08-Jul-2018

Report Dream Cricket,Francis Ryan Oval, Sanctuary Point , 20th May,2018

Despite a very cold windy day, the rain stayed away. Schools participating were from Sanctuary Point, Budawang Special Needs School and Vincentia High School.

Total students attending -56 + 2 mentors from Vincentia High School.

Each class from Sanctuary Point were accompanied by a teacher and assistant.(6 classes)

3 teachers, 16 students and 2 mentors from Vincentia High school attended.Rotary E Club provided a bus from Shoalbus who discounted the cost by $40.2 teachers and 7 students from Budawang school also attended.

Sanctuary Point Deputy Principal (Support) Anita Hall offered some advice, as they were unable to attend the Gala Day due to caring for students who are prone to become disruptive. If the program is offered within the proximity of the school, these students can be removed and cared for quickly without unduly disrupting the other students. This emphasises the need for flexibility in delivery of the program.Anita was very impressed with the involvement of the Vincentia Special Needs students who interacted very well with the primary school students, particularly with the Kindergarten children and more disabled Budawang students. She would be very pleased if we can run another clinic day at Sanctuary Point later this year.

Co-ordinators were John Britton and Steve Smith.
